![]() In the evening, the door slide to the right, close the coop and the big doors are manually set into position. ![]() The doors slide to the left in the morning, open the coop, and at a certain point make the upper cogs move the trigger pole up, releasing the door that is pushed against a spring that pops the big door open as soon as the trigger releases the loop. Automatic aluminum door opening ECO kit with controller with 4 operating modes to open and close the chicken coop door. Here is the 3D model that I've made: So you have an idea of how it should work. I wanted to ask if there would be someone willing to help with this project, either collaborate or point me in the right direction of which parts I need to make it work. The doors slide to the left in the morning, open the coop, and at a certain point make the upper cogs move the trigger pole up, releasing the door that is pushed against a spring that pops the big door open as soon as the trigger releases the loop. So essentially, I only have the concept that I created in 3D and that's it. I have an inventive and creative mind and I know how it should work, but no idea how to make it work, that is how and what to connect, which motor to choose so it would be strong enough to open the door, how to make the Arduino to turn the motor on specific programmable time etc. Now I am an absolute amateur when it comes to Arduino and engineering - I have no knowledge of circuits, programming etc. This would be done, in my mind, by one action of a single motor. I also came up with a system that would not only open the coop door but also open the door of the enclosure, so the hens would get out of the coop and out of the enclosure out into the garden. ![]() In my chicken coop, however, I need this to work horizontally, so sliding the door left and right, instead of pulling it up like a guillotine. Now there are several openers on the market already, but they are all vertical, so they open the doors on a string up and down. Omlets automatic chicken coop door opener is battery powered and combines both a timer and a light sensor, giving you the ultimate options for flexibility and control. I have a project that I came up with to make maintenance of my hens easier - an automatic coop door opener. ![]()
